Ten years ago I was working in the customer service department of a large company, and I knew something was missing. I had helped my department create processes and efficiency, but how was I making a difference in the world? Although it was a good job with good people, I didn’t feel like I was making a larger impact or that I was appreciated.

That’s when I started to look at creating a company where I could be in charge of my own time and build lasting relationships with clients; a company where I could make a positive impact on the lives of others and see it happen in real-time.

In November of 2011, I created that company, and I started to effect change for myself and my clients. I began as a home organizer and loved experiencing the shift that happened not only in the spaces I was organizing but also in my clients’ emotional and mental wellbeing. There have been a lot of positive and negative twists and turns since then, but the opportunity to see the impact I can make has been worth every moment. Stay tuned to next month’s blog where I’ll tell you how I went from home organizing to tech training.

And never forget that no matter how efficient you, your team or your company may get, dig deep to uncover the impact that your efficiency is making. If you aren’t aligned with that larger impact, the efficiency will feel meaningless.
